The media has been intrigued by the combination of Wendeen's experience in business politics and gaming. She is frequently highlighted in print and broadcast segments about the gaming world.
Wendeen's leadership in the gaming industry, had its beginnings in the late 60's and since then, she has been involved in all aspects of the gaming space with appropriate discretion on behalf of clients and significant publicity for her poker exploits.
Gaming Space Specialty
Wendeen's first attorney selection/vetting assignment was for the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas. The old-school CEO casino mogul Morris Shenker was pleased with her find and introduced her to his Las Vegas friends, executives of Caesars, the Riviera, and the Sands.
In 1971, Wendeen forged a relationship with Caesars and members of its Board of Directors that put her in the thick of the gaming space in America, Europe and Asia over the next four decades. She has passed through the gates of most of the world's great casinos; as an advisor to numerous casino CEO's and corporate boards, as a government official with tribal and commercial casino matters in her portfolio, as an adviser to law firms working with regulators on casino matters, and/or as a customer counting cards expertly at blackjack tables --before taking down pots at poker tables against the very best players in the world.
During the meteoric rise of international poker competition created in Europe, Eolis represented an interationally recognized poker tournament organizer in the development of tournaments in Europe and Asia, working directly with casinos and online gaming partners in the development of these events.
A lecturer at gaming conferences Wendeen has made the case for licensed, taxed and regulated i-gaming. As an honored guest of Prince Albert of Monaco and recipient of a Citation by the Principality for her contribution to the gaming industry, she moderated a forward thinking panel of legal experts at Sportel on the future of gaming in America. She predicted that i-gaming would become a state issue; she turned out to be right! Nominated as Leader of the Year at the Women in Gaming Awards, Wendeen has been at the forefront of debate and is an internationally recognized thought leader concerning i-gaming in America. Wendeen also writes extensively about the business of gaming, is a frequent speaker on the state of the gaming industry, especially poker and has a memoir in the works. |
